I have found that I am never able to finish decorating my boys room, because as they continue to grow — their needs change.
Recently I realized that with their high energy, they really need more floor space. So I pulled out our cozy rocking chair and a few other items to give them more room to jump around.
They’ve also begun to need some space away from each other — and since they share a room, that can be difficult. Sometimes we set one child in another room with toys, and that works fine. But there are occasions when they both need time away from each other, but don’t want to leave their bedroom. So I am finding ways to create private spaces within their room.
My mom sent me a Teepee a couple of years ago that she bought at an arts and crafts show. The teepee came out occasionally, but recently it has become a permanent fixture in their room. I throw a couple of floor pillows in there and voila — an instant private space. They also cuddle up in there together sometimes — so cute!
The best part is, when they want to run around or build a massive train track, it folds up easy and put I it to the side. (Really - you just pick it up and it collapses - easier than an umbrella!)
