Dillon has been loving “The Monster Show” for weeks. It is a cute “tell all” about monsters... did you know that monsters feel silly only wearing underpants? Little D (3) now reads it back to me and it is the cutest thing ever. ~d
This is a great little series of books about trucks, fire engines, digger and other machines. Dillon reads these over and over again. The have cute illustrations, bright colors and they are about machines — what little boy wouldn't like! ~d

Turn your one night stand into a sitcom!

Mary Pols, author of the book Accidentally on Purpose is giving a reading Thursday June 11th, 7:30 p.m. at Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore, 2904 College Avenue, Berkeley, CA.

You gotta read Mary’s “Accidentally on Purpose,” recently released in paperback. This book is funny, poignant and above all, Mary is absolutely fearless in how she walks the reader through this chapter of her life. And what a chapter it is. Mary is 39 when she hooks up with a guy for a one-night stand. He’s much younger, cute — hey, what the hell, she was unattached at the time. But whoops — she gets pregnant. She decides she wants to the baby — and tells Matt (the guy) — that he doesn’t have to stick around. But he does, in a mellow way, and they forge a very 21st century parenting duo that is by turns exhilirating and frustrating. CBS is launching a sitcom based on the book this fall starring Jenna Elfman and former “Melrose Place” stud Grant Snow, so come see Mary before she becomes the next Diablo Cody.

If you just can’t get away from the kids, bring them with! She’ll provide homemade cupcakes to bribe them to be quiet!
